JDC–FSU is seeking a Chief of Staff

JDC–FSU is looking for a Chief of Staff for the Office of the Executive Director. The Chief of Staff will serve as the Executive Director’s right-hand person, turning ideas into reality and streamlining day-to-day implementation.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter and self-learner, who loves to work with diverse teams and to find creative ways to conceptualize goals, translate goals into multi-faceted processes, and to drive execution.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Manage cross-divisional and other special projects, working with a variety of teams from across the department on a range of issues including program, budget, operations, and external relations.
  • Facilitate the process of strategic planning, working with the Executive Director and senior management on long-term strategic analysis and implementation.
  • Create content for the Executive Director including reports and presentations that support the department’s goals and effectively communicate processes.
  • Work with the Executive Director and senior professionals on developing the annual strategy and annual work plans; follow up on implementation.
  • Staff senior management meetings and work closely with the management team to identify, drive and support senior management goals and priorities.
  • Streamline day-to-day operations and follow up on action items and key priorities for the Executive Director.
  • Serve as a thought-partner and sounding board for the Executive Director and senior management. 
  • Academic degree – required. MA – advantage.
  • Experience – minimum of 3 years in a similar or project management position.
  • Strong communicator – native level English with strong rhetorical skills, both verbal and written. Able to develop compelling strategic content for internal and external purposes. Fluent in Hebrew.
  • Analytical; excellent problem-solver and researcher. Thinks out of the box. 
  • Self-starter – ambitious and dedicated, able to dive into any area of operations with attention to detail, while looking at the big picture and connecting the dots. 
  • Excellent project manager – organized and detail-oriented, a multi-tasker who can drive complex processes with multiple aspects and stakeholders. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – able to convene professionals and other stakeholders, understand different needs, and mobilize to action.
  • Executive presence: confident in managing up and working closely with top executives.
  • Passionate about driving social impact.
  • Cross-cultural work capabilities.


  • Full-time position
  • Work in Jerusalem – flexibility to work part-time remotely
  • Reports to Executive Director
  • Able to travel overseas
