OPERATIONS MANAGER - ENTWINE

JDC Entwine has an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As an Operations Manager, you will become deeply familiar with JDC’s Israel region and other JDC region(s) and their Programs, and serve as the interface between these regions or Programs and Entwine. You will implement and evaluate these Programs while developing relationships with key JDC global staff and local community leaders around the world. Flexibility to travel internationally 4-6 times per year required (travel is typically 4-8 days/trip).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • On an on-going basis, works to develop and maintain strong relationships and mutual understanding between Entwine and JDC’s regional and local staff in order to strengthen Entwine’s collaborative capacity throughout the organization and in the field. In collaboration with the field, the Operations Manager produces Regional Strategies to help implement Entwine’s annual priorities. 
  • Develops 7-10 day overseas component of Insider Trip experience together with JDC global staff that includes meaningful service work, engagement with local peers, educational content, and Jewish learning, utilizing Entwine’s unique educational curriculum.
  • Develops year-long Jewish Service Corps (JSC) placements together with JDC global staff that includes meaningful service work, peer-led learning experiences, and leadership training. Provides supervision, mentorship and oversight of JSC Fellows while maintaining on-going check-ins with placement supervisors. Staffs in-person group interview days, orientations and seminars.
  • Assists in development and implementation of Entwine's various overseas leadership programs, such as the Ralph I. Goldman Fellowship and Weitzman Fellowship. Crafts unique leadership and learning opportunities for program participants utilizing JDC's access to diverse communities and leaders.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Staffs select Insider Trips and facilitates educational content; serves as key liaison between field staff/tour operator and group.
  • Identifies opportunities and locations for Entwine programming and conducts site development visits to create new opportunities for global immersive experiences.
  • Serve as critical member of Project Teams, managing timelines, budgets, and different internal and external programmatic stakeholders.
  • Manage security and legal components of Entwine's experiences in their region(s).
  • Serve as an expert on global Jewish causes and communities, infusing that knowledge into Entwine's US-based programs and thought-leadership in the Jewish young adult marketplace.
  • Serve as a JDC Entwine expert by 1) maintaining a high-level understanding of the department’s goals and programming and 2) communicating the work of the department and JDC through an Entwine lens and perspective.
  • Help inform the recruitment and selection process of Jewish Service Corps Fellows.

Who is an Operations Manager?

  • Extremely detail-oriented and a proactive problem-solver
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work in a flexible work environment with flexible hours (working with New York, California, India etc.)
  • Able to work effectively with colleagues, supervisor, and volunteers remotely
  • Enjoys working collaboratively
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong oral and written communicator

What qualifications do you need to be an Operations Manager?

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years professional experience
  • Background in working closely with teams and program planning
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to be an effective manager
  • Strong computer skills including expertise with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong prioritization skills, able to quickly adapt to shifting priorities on multiple projects
  • Experience in project and budget management preferred
  • Passion for humanitarian work and/or global Jewish service strongly preferred
  • Bilingual - Hebrew and English
