Meeting the Need for Accessible Mental Health Support
“About six weeks after the war began, I realized my son was struggling greatly and I didn’t know how to help him on my own,” says M., mother of a 7-year-old boy from the southern region. “He has ADHD and anxiety, and the war exacerbated the situation. The sirens frightened him and he refused to leave the house, except for school. Additionally, his father was in the reserves in Gaza, and everything he heard about Hamas amplified his anxieties. At work, they told me about the ‘Nafshi’ portal, and I decided to check it out. I found many available resources of different types. Among them were many online resources designed to help parents talk to their children about the war – digital guides, calming techniques, printable children’s stories, and a hotline for parental advice. These free resources helped me cope with my son on my own – without the need for private therapy.”
Promoting convenient and tailored access to diverse professional services for the entire population was set as a central parameter in the organization’s roadmap, in light of the complex period we are living in. One of the first solutions developed within this framework is the “Nafshi” portal.
What “Nafshi” Offers
The platform provides access to therapeutic, group, and community responses, alongside self-help tools and relevant educational content, for anyone interested in finding support for themselves or someone in their environment.
“Nafshi” allows you to easily find the most suitable solutions for you, according to age, population group, and type of assistance required. The responses include helplines, digital self-help tools, educational content, and the option for online therapy from home.
All solutions in the portal have been professionally validated by mental health experts, and we hope that through the platform, a wider population will be able to access responses that promote resilience and mental health for their well-being.
We invite you to enter the “Nafshi” portal and find the appropriate solution for maintaining strong mental health.
Thanks to our partners in developing the portal – LA Federation and Otef Lev from the Civil Situation Room.
