In the first phase, we worked to map the most vulnerable populations in the authorities by distributing emergency kits, and we invested effort in improving the organizational and operational mechanism. A local coordinator was appointed in each authority to coordinate emergency operations, information systems were implemented for data management, and each authority received a flexible budget for use for emergency needs.
The Second Stage: The Beginning of the Operational Phase
With the increase in rocket fire incidents towards the north, the Joint Operations Center began operating throughout the week, to receive requests from the authorities and provide them with their urgent needs. An advanced BI system is being operated at the Joint Headquarters in Jerusalem, which includes smart digital boards (dashboards) that allow real-time viewing of data from the various authorities and allows for the reception and analysis of the data according to requirements. This system enables capturing a full picture and a quick and effective response to changing needs in the field.
The solutions we provide include:
- Food and water packages
- Baby products
- Absorbent products and food substitutes for the elderly
- Nursing hours and home support
- Emergency relief activities for children and adults
- An app we developed to strengthen resilience and provide emotional first aid
Humanitarian Aid Operations Center: Activity at Its Peak – We Will Continue to Operate as Long as Necessary
So far, we have reached 24,514 households that have received emergency kits. In addition, 7,256 items were distributed, and dozens of relief activities were carried out for parents and young children, with an emphasis on building resilience and calming down. In some authorities, activities were also held for the elderly.
The success of the system is made possible thanks to close cooperation with the authorities, the Home Front Command, civil society organizations, and philanthropic support. This is alongside the wide deployment of the Joint’s field personnel, and the direct and constant contact they maintain with the residents. This combination allows for rapid identification of needs and immediate response. The Emergency Operations Center is prepared to provide immediate and initial assistance even in the event of further escalation in the northern frontier, and will continue to operate as long as the state of emergency continues.
The activities of the Emergency Operations Center are carried out while maintaining the principles of professionalism, efficiency, and sensitivity. This is a living testimony to the unifying power of Israeli society in times of crisis. Precisely now, in the most challenging moments, the power of mutual guarantee and concern for the community is revealed. Together as a cohesive civil society, we will continue to successfully face every challenge.
