At a time when Israel is facing a prolonged security crisis with Iran—marked by frequent missile barrages across the country—the need for emergency preparedness for the entire population, especially people with disabilities and older adults, has become more urgent than ever. During sirens, many struggle to reach a protected space, gather essentials quickly, or function under sustained stress. For these individuals in particular, daily life is disrupted more profoundly – calling for tailored solutions.
A Human and Accessible Response
As part of this response, we are proud to take part in the development and implementation of the “Purple Vest” app, together with Access Israel. This innovative and essential tool provides tailored support for people with disabilities and older adults.
The app enables individuals to register in advance, specify their needs, and—during an emergency – receive direct and precise assistance from specially trained volunteers. This support is accessible, responsible, and in some cases, even lifesaving.
An Initiative with Purpose
The Purple Vest initiative was born out of a deep understanding that not everyone experiences an emergency in the same way. While some people can reach a protected space within seconds, others require assistance, guidance, and sometimes even personal accompaniment. This initiative is working to ensure that no one is left behind.
In times when daily routines are disrupted and the question “How do we prepare?” takes on new urgency, we call on the public: early preparedness is the key to personal safety. Register today for the Purple Vest app – and ensure that someone will be there to reach out a helping hand, even in the most critical moments.
