Health Program Manager

JDC GRID is the disaster relief and international development arm of JDC, focusing on health interventions, disaster and crisis response, delivering emergency relief and post-disaster assistance to communities across the globe; economic empowerment for people living in poverty, through opportunities fostering economic self-sufficiency; and improving the lives of women, children and disadvantaged populations.

We are seeking a Program Manager to join our health programs as a member of the core team who will oversee the operations in the field from our HQ in Israel. This is an ideal position for an energetic individual with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, changing environment.

What will you do as Program Manager?

• Responsible for overseeing the implementation of program deliverables.
• Work on planning, budgeting, action plans and evaluation processes.
• Manage tender processes of medical supplies and equipment.
• Run procurement processes and administer payments to suppliers, international partners and vendors and manage their deliverables.
• Manage budget of multiple programs, monitor financial spend, budget forecasting.
• Support partnership development while assessing and validating needs on the ground.
• Scout for additional opportunities to deploy medical interventions.
• Build partnerships with local and international bodies. Coordinate and participate in partnership meetings.
• Provide support for JDC GRID’s stakeholder engagement work, including preparing reports for strategic partners, JDC Board Members, funders.
• Depending on the experience level – more managerial responsibilities will be considered.
• Travel frequently to the field 3-5 times per year to Ethiopia and Ghana (or other countries as needed)
• Additional programmatic responsibilities as required.

What qualifications do you need to be our Health Programs Manager?

• Academic degree required, relevant MA (preferred MA in a relevant field such as public health, international development, economics, or business)
• At least 2 years of work experience in public health, medical devices, or international development preferred.
• Experience in program management (preferably in health context)
• Experience in building and maintaining partnerships.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills, fluent spoken and written English, Hebrew an advantage
• Able to work within cross-cultural environments.
• Able to work independently and remotely.
• Advanced skills with MS Office suite and technology oriented
