Director of Economics and Analysis Department

The Head of Economics and Analysis Unit plays a pivotal role in overseeing allocation of budgets to Jewish communities in the countries of the Former Soviet Union, guiding budgetary decisions, leading analytical processes, participating in strategic partner relations, and contributing to strategic development within International NGO. This position requires exceptional management skills, proficiency in economic analysis, and a strategic mindset to effectively support the organization's mission.


Key responsibilities: 


1. Strategic Budget Management:

  • Lead the team in the allocation of budgets across various countries and programs.
  • Develop and implement effective budgetary strategies aligned with organizational objectives.

2. Leadership and Team Management:

  • Manage a team of professionals, including budget and data professionals.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the team for successful project execution.

3. Data Analysis and Insights:

  • Oversee the data analysis team to provide reporting processes and comprehensive insights into programmatic and budgetary aspects.
  • Utilize data-driven methods to enhance decision-making processes and optimize resource allocation.

4. Strategic Partner Relations:

  • Lead and nurture ongoing relationships with the key partner that supports programs run by JDC.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the partner organization, ensuring effective communication, alignment of goals, and mutual understanding.
  •  Provide regular updates and reports to the partner on program progress, impact, and budgetary accountability.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment of the programs run with the partner's strategic objectives and program requirements.

5. Economic Modeling and Strategy Development:

  • Participate in strategic processes, contributing economic models for effective planning and decision-making.
  • Develop and refine economic models to support the organization's mission and goals.

6. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between economic strategies and programmatic objectives.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively complex economic concepts and insights to various stakeholders.
  • Advanced degree in Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven track record (3-5 years) of successful management and creation of economic models.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Previous experience of working in international NGO's or similar environments - advantageous.
  • Languages: English and Russian (written and spoken) – High-level. Good command in Hebrew – advantageous.
