Director of Strategic Partnerships - JDC-Israel ESHEL

A highly motivated and entrepreneurial professional responsible for maintaining a robust support ecosystem of partners and philanthropists in Israel and Abroad for JDC - ESHEL. You will work closely with JDC-ESHEL's CEO to define short- and long-term goals, and engage with existing and potential donors and partners to develop meaningful partnerships necessary to realize the goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Donor relations – ongoing communication with philanthropic partners. This may include reporting, updates, and funding renewals (by way of digital documents, face-to-face or zoom engagements), and working with JDC's Global Resource Development and JDC-Israel professionals (fundraisers, marketing, writers, mission coordinators, account managers, budget and finance staff)
  • Recruitment of new philanthropic partners to ESHEL – mapping of potential new / inactive philanthropic partners, proactive outreach, and reactive follow-up on leads from management, introductory and follow-up meetings and site visits
  • Strengthening professional collaborations with global players in the aging industry to strengthen JDC-Eshel's position and brand as a leading thinker and incubator in the sphere of services and knowledge for seniors.
  • Relationship-building activities on behalf of JDC-Eshel for example webinars with philanthropic and professional partners
  • Responsible for JDC-Eshel's Advisory Committee (frontal and online) – planning, content, material, logistics
  • Act as resource for all JDC-Eshel's materials in English and manage translations to English
  • Long-term planning, organizational identity, narrative, branding
  • Development of marketing collateral – presentations
  • Participation in JDC board meetings or aging conferences abroad and in Israel (from time to time)
  • Programmatic site visits for donor and professional missions – organize and lead
  • JDC-Eshel representative in various Joint forums
  • Participate in cross organizational fundraising forums

Position requirements are:

  • Bachelor's degree; MA degree (preferred)
  • Knowledge of the senior-living and active-aging industry (an advantage)
  • Knowledge of fundraising/donor engagement (in particular the American Jewish philanthropic environment)
  • Entrepreneurial in your approach to work
  • Mother tongue English (spoken, written) and fluent spoken Hebrew
  • Strong English writing and oral presentation skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills; self-starter
  • Team player with leadership capabilities
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, PPT, Outlook

  • Job Type: Full Time
  • Required to work 2-3 days per week from the JDC Jerusalem office.
  • Overseas visits: 2-4 times a year
  • Preferred Start Date: December 1st, 2022
